StudyLayer(“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights when you use our desktop software and website (canvacheat.com).
2. Data We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in, we collect your email address and display name through Clerk, our authentication provider.
Subscription and Payment Data
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or complete billing details. We store your plan and scan quota so the app can enforce access.
Screenshots and AI Processing
When you trigger a study scan, the software captures the selected screen image and sends it to our backend API for AI analysis.
- Screenshots are processed for the AI request.
- We do not use screenshots for advertising.
- AI providers may process image data under their own policies.
Usage Data
We log the number of scans used per account for quota enforcement. We do not need to store the content of your study material to count quota usage.

7. Security
We use common security practices such as encrypted connections, local session storage, and server-side authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we aim to keep the product practical and trustworthy.
